Overview

For campers and Fifth Wheel travelers, California is particularly varied but also challenging. Those who take into account travel times, vehicle size, reservations and seasonal road closures will be rewarded with a hardly comparable variety.

Our recommendation: take your time, stay several nights at the great natural destinations and consciously plan more quiet places like Anza-Borrego, Point Lobos, Mono Lake, Bodie, Lassen and the Mendocino Coast. Often there are memories that remain the longest.
