Why go
The Salton Sea is not a classic holiday destination, but rather a strange landscape between nature, decay and art. The lake, abandoned places and the colourful desert art around Bombay Beach and Salvation Mountain create an almost surreal atmosphere.
The stop can be easily integrated into the proposed round trip and offers a clear contrast to the previous stage.

Our recommendation
The Salton Sea is fascinating, but special. As a half-day stopover between Anza-Borrego, Palm Springs and Joshua Tree it is particularly exciting.
