Why go
The Avenue of the Giants runs as a quiet side road through Humboldt Redwood's State Park. At about 50 kilometres old redwood groves, small towns and accesses to the Eel River alternate.
The stop can be easily integrated into the proposed round trip and offers a clear contrast to the previous stage.

The small towns along the route offer only limited supplies. You can do larger purchases in Garberville, Fortuna or Eureka.
Food & drink
Garberville and Fortuna offer the most reliable selection. Along the Avenue there are individual seasonal cafes and small shops.

Practical tips
Drive slowly; the road is narrower than Highway 101.
Watch for low-hanging branches and narrow driveways.
Choose a few Groves and take your time there.
