Sequoia National Park protects some of the most powerful trees on earth. Giant Forest, deep canyons and high Sierra peaks form a landscape that goes far beyond the famous General Sherman Tree.
The stop can be easily integrated into the proposed round trip and offers a clear contrast to the previous stage.

General Sherman Tree
According to volume, the tree is considered the largest living single tree on earth and stands in the Giant Forest.
Moro Rock
A steep staircase leads to the granite rocks with a wide view over forests and Sierra Nevada.

The circular trail leads through a particularly impressive inventory of old Giant Sequoias.

Practical tips
The Generals Highway is narrow and curvy.
There are clear recommendations and restrictions for long vehicles.
Use shuttle or smaller vehicle if possible.

Our recommendation
Plan Sequoia not as a fast transit park. Giant Forest, Congress Trail and Moro Rock need at least one full day; with Kings Canyon are three to four nights ideal.
