Just a few kilometers north of San Francisco Muir Woods protects an old coastal Redwood forest. The short, well-developed paths make the place accessible even for travelers who do not plan a long walk.
The stop can be easily integrated into the proposed round trip and offers a clear contrast to the previous stage.

Muir Woods is a special place despite the high number of visitors. Those who visit Redwood National Park later experience more wilderness there; for a short Redwood impression near San Francisco, Muir Woods is ideal.
