Why go
Point Lobos is often referred to as the crown jewel of California State Parks. In a narrow space, rocky bays, cypress forests, turquoise water and an exceptionally rich wildlife combine.
The stop can be easily integrated into the proposed round trip and offers a clear contrast to the previous stage.

In the protected area there are hardly any shopping possibilities. Buy water and food before in Carmel or Monterey.
Food & drink
Carmel-by-the-Sea and Carmel Highlands are suitable for restaurants. You should plan your own meals in the reservation itself.

Practical tips
The parking lot is small; come early.
With large motorhome better park outside and use a smaller vehicle.
Stay on the marked paths and stay away from wildlife.
Our recommendation
Point Lobos is one of the most beautiful coastal hikes in California and is a must for us. Half a day already shows amazingly many landscapes.
