Overview
This proposal combines comfortable supply nights with simple campgrounds and free overnight stays. After two to three self-sufficient nights at the latest, a place with fresh water and disposal is deliberately followed again. Where Boondocking with a large Fifth Wheel does not make sense, the plan remains with an official campground.
Recommended basic rhythm
Camping with service → 1–2 nights Dry Camping or Boondocking → Camping with water and dump station. In case of heat, cold or high consumption supply earlier.

Camping + service | Yellowstone | Fishing Bridge RV Park offers Full Hook-up. Check water and dump at a simple park campground station in advance and reserve the vehicle length exactly.
Camping + service | Grand Teton – Colter Bay | Colter Bay RV Park with Full Hook-up or Colter Bay Campground with Dump Station and drinking water. Choose the right site category for long teams.
Boondocking | Spread Creek / Moran Vista | Dedicated undeveloped sites in Bridger-Teton National Forest; single places are suitable for larger RVs. No water, no connections, stay currently limited to 5 days.
Camping + service | Jackson | Virginian RV Park or an RV park south of the city. Full hook-up use; city visit without Fifth Wheel.
Camping + service | Cody | Ponderosa Campground or Buffalo Bill State Park. Fill, dispose of and refuel in front of the Bighorn Mountains.
Boondocking | Bighorn National Forest | Only on current MVUM permitted Forest Roads. Check weather, turning place and incline before using the pickup truck; no infrastructure.
Camping | Devils Tower | Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA for connections or Belle Fourche River Campground for Dry Camping. Water and dump confirm in advance depending on the chosen place.
Camping + service | Thermopolis | Eagle RV Park or Fountain of Youth RV Park. Good complete service stop after the remote Bighorn stages.
Important for a big Fifth Wheel
Always check Boondocking access roads first without trailer. Only use public, legally accessible and already used areas. Before each journey current blockings, fire regulations, motor vehicle use maps, ground conditions, maximum vehicle length and turning area on the official pages of BLM, US Forest Service, National Park Service, State Parks and Recreation.gov control. Taps only for filling tanks if this is expressly allowed.
