Why go
Between Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie, the Trans-Canada Highway follows one of the wildest coastal roads in the country.
The stop is intended as a quiet stage. The Fifth Wheel remains on a suitable basis if possible, while narrow local, coastal and park roads are only explored with the pickup truck.

Boondocking & Supply
Boondocking suitability in Ontario: good in the north, weak in the densely populated south. Suitable areas are not guaranteed pitches; land status, signposting, access and current bans must be confirmed on site and on official maps.

Practical tips
Do not drive at night; moose and long service-poor sections are to be taken seriously.
Check with long team access and pitch length before booking.
Check the season, weather and current closures just before the stage.
Save offline maps. In rural regions, national parks and in the north, mobile communications can be missing over long distances.
Never take water untested from lakes or rivers into the fresh water tank. Replenish drinking water only at released sources or prepare it professionally.
Our recommendation
Our recommendation: Plan enough time for Ney's Provincial Park and use Marathon or Wawa as a quiet base. So the stop remains relaxed and fits in with the Rolling Dreams travel style.
